Nguyen Thi Kim Dung- Deputy Director

Nguyen Thi Kim Dung has nearly thirty years of experience in environment and education issues in Vietnam. She currently works as Deputy Director of the Center and Manager of the Khanh Hoa branch of the Center for Education and Development, where she focuses on improving teaching methodology and promoting education reform in Vietnam. Ms. Dung previously worked as head of Primary Education Research under the Research Center for Education Technology (RECET), Viet Nam Institute of Education Science (VNIES), for almost 11 years. Her tasks included implementing programs to raise environmental awareness in schools and compiling educational materials for mainstream and extracurricular activities at the primary level in various subjects. She has also organized campaigns to raise awareness about safe migration and anti-human trafficking in secondary schools and information education institutions such as Community Learning Centers. She has supported schools and communities in Cambodia (Kandal and Takeo provinces) to integrate safe migration and anti-trafficking education into school curricula and community activities.

Prior to joining VNIES, Ms. Dung worked for Hung Yen Pedagogical College: first as a lecturer in literature, then as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Primary Education, and finally as Vice President of the Trade Union of Hung Yen Pedagogical College. She has extensive field experience in primary education, with a particular focus on improving teaching methodologies and curriculum development for literacy and the study of literature.

She holds a M.A. in Methods of Teaching Literature, Hanoi National University of Education (1997) and a B.A. in Literature from Hanoi National University of Education (1982).
